SPRING DETOX: 5 THINGS TO PAY ATTENTION TO

FRÜHJAHRS-DETOX: AUF DIESE 5 DINGE SOLLTE MAN ACHTEN

Detoxify, purify and ideally lose a few extra pounds. Most people start the new year with good intentions and some want to give their bodies a break from alcohol, sugar and unhealthy food after the holidays. It's not just workaholics who are fighting a stressful lifestyle, but more and more people are realizing the connection between body, health and psyche. They want to take more time for themselves and find new performance. DETOX, which actually means activating the body's natural self-cleaning powers, is suitable for a fresh start at the beginning of the year, as in addition to health and well-being, it is also about achieving inner balance and counteracting listlessness.

There are many different types of detox: whether it's so-called "juicing" or a completely vegan and gluten-free diet. Whatever the differences between the diets, there are certain things to keep in mind during a detox. We've put together the most important ones for you.

1. Drink enough fluids:

Water and unsweetened herbal teas are particularly suitable during the detoxification treatment. The rule here is: the more the better, as a lot of liquid thoroughly flushes the cells, flushes out stored toxins and also reduces hunger. During the entire detox period, the teas should be enjoyed unsweetened (with a teaspoon of honey at most) and fruit juices should only be included now and again - opt for vegetable juices instead.

2. The right diet is crucial:

Fruit and vegetables are the most important components of the detox diet. It is best to choose regional and seasonal products and avoid fruits that contain a lot of fructose, such as bananas, dates, grapes and raisins. All types of vegetables can be enjoyed without restriction. A varied menu, new recipe ideas and colorful variety on the plate motivate you to keep going. You can also eat nuts, seeds and healthy oils such as virgin olive oil, lentils, beans and wholegrain rice or wholegrain cereals (millet, oatmeal, quinoa...). However, gluten-free alternatives should always be preferred here. The best sources of protein are poultry and fish, fresh and from sustainable sources. Stay away from alcohol, sugar and too much coffee. Too much salt should also be avoided, as salt stores fluid in the body and thus counteracts the flushing out of toxins.

3. Raw food:

Vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, preferably organic and raw. Fresh vegetables support the natural detoxification process with their vitamins, minerals and fiber. Vegan raw vegetable salads without filling foods such as cheese, eggs, meat or fatty sauces are ideal for detoxing.

4. Relaxation and rest periods:

In keeping with the motto "Take Care of Yourself", relaxation phases should definitely be integrated into the detox treatment and your own body should be the focus. If you really want to do something good for your body, then that means paying attention to the entire body and its needs and adjusting to it. Take time for relaxation and inner peace and try to consciously take care of yourself.

5. Lots of sleep and wellness sessions:

Detoxing is hard work for the body. In order to flush out all toxins optimally, the body needs a lot of energy and should therefore be provided with enough sleep. Going to the sauna or taking a hot bath also helps the body detoxify, as toxins are better eliminated through sweating and the pores are opened. Our tip: add sea salt to the bath water. This also draws the toxic substances out of the body.

Detox treatments should last at least three days, but can also last up to three or four weeks - depending on the desired result. But here too, pay attention to your body and its needs - success here also means finding inner balance!
